Our Beliefs at ACC

The Bible

We believe in the inspiration and inerrancy of the Scriptures and the authority of both the Old and New Testaments. Only the bible is God’s direct word to mankind.

God

We believe God eternally exists in three Persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one God, having the same nature, attributes, and perfections, and worthy of the same worship, reverence, and obedience.

Jesus

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins by dying on a cross. He rose from the dead to show His power over sin and death.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the eternal God. He has been given to indwell every believer giving us guidance as we live the Christian life. Empowering and equipping the body of Christ for God’s work on earth.

Man

We believe all people were created in the image of God to have a relationship with Him. Mankind lost their relationship through disobedience towards God which is called sin. As the result of sin, we cannot gain a right relationship with God through our own efforts. Only Jesus provides us this relationship with God.

Salvation

Salvation means to be delivered from the power of sin. Jesus died a substitutionary death on the cross as a complete payment for all our sins. Only the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. God freely offers salvation to those who repent and place their faith in Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.

The Christian Life

We believe all Christians (Christ-followers) should live for Christ and not for themselves. We do this by obeying God’s Word and daily yielding to the Holy Spirit. We believe in water baptism by immersion, in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, to which every believer should solemnly follow. We also believe every believer should participate in Communion as commanded and exampled by our Lord. It is our responsibility as a believer to mature, grow and be conformed to the image of Christ as we continue to obey the Spirit.

The Church

We believe the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted, by faith, the work of Christ on the cross. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to the lost world. We celebrate communion each Sunday to bring about the unity Jesus called for in John chapter 17.

Marriage

We believe God created the establishment of sacred marriage. He is best represented to the world from the example of marriage through loving, sacrificial relationships. We recognize marriage to be a lifelong commitment between a man and woman, and any sexual relations outside of marriage is sinful.
